Why leave Wanaka?

This morning we are due to leave Wanaka and make our way to Queenstown.  However there is one small problem, the sun is out and we don't want to leave as we love it here too much.  So we go straight down to the camp office and book in for another night (one of the joys of campervan life).

We then head off into town and spend some time with the friendly ladies at the i-site booking some of our upcoming trips which need sorted in advance.  Then we have time for a good look round some of the nice shops in the town and a spot of lunch in Betty with the big back doors open down by the lake.

This afternoon we hire some mountain bikes and head out along the side of the lake and down some of the upper Clutha River track.

It's a very enjoyable cycle and we get back to town around 5 o'clock and then back to the camp site in time for a barbeque for dinner.

The whole day is finished off nicely with a fine sunset over the Mt Aspiring National Park.

Definitely pleased we decided to stay for another day.
