The Best Cinema in the World

Is called Cinema Paradiso and is located in Wanaka.

We have now been twice in 24 hours, and previously we have not been to the cinema for about four years...

So what makes Cinema Paradiso so great?

• You don't sit on regular cinema seats but instead it is furnished with a selection of big comfy sofas and armchairs and even a Morris Minor.
• You can eat in the cinema, like proper meals not just popcorn.  We had dinner yesterday (Enchiladas for Mrs M and spicy mushroom pizza for Mr M), and when you order your meal you are asked if you like it 'before, during or after'.  We chose during and picked up our food on the way in to the show and had it on a plastic tray on our lap.
• You can have a drink in the cinema.  Not just a soft drink, Mr M had some local Wanaka beer and Mrs M a cup of tea!
• There is an interval in all showings.
• In the interval you nip out and can pick up some freshly baked cookies straight from the oven, or some home-made ice-cream (and top up your beer).
• Oh and its also owned by a Scottish expat called Calum.

So all in, the only conclusion we can draw from our experience is that Cinema Paradiso is the best cinema in the world.
