Koala Alley

Today we head back to The 12 Apostles early in the morning to miss some of the crowds we saw yesterday and have the place almost to ourselves which was nice.

12 Apostles looking magnificent in the sun.

After a nice lunch in Apollo Bay we then head to the Cape Ottway National Park where we are reliably informed there is a good chance of seeing Koala Bears.  As we initially drive into the park Mrs M shouts to stop as she has seen something move in her now expertly trained jungle vision.  After pulling over we peer into the trees and see a small hairy thing at quite a distance that might be a Koala.
Koala sleepy time...

Feeling quite pleased with ourselves we continue down to the coast and have a little wander along the coast to the lighthouse.  On the way back home, as the sun is starting to set, a car in front has pulled over.  Thinking they may have spotted more Koalas we stop to have a look.  We are then greeted by about 50 or more Koalas on the road and in the trees round about.  Obviously not shy we stop for about 45 minutes taking their pictures as car after car stops also.

As the sun continues to go down we decide to leave the wee guys to their tea and head off home back down what has been christened by Mrs M ‘Koala Alley’
