Dreich

OK so you might have noticed from many of the previous Oz pictures that the weather so far has been pretty good, 18deg and sunny pretty much every day.

Well not today.  Today a storm is brewing in the Southern Ocean and its cold and wet and grey.  In Scotland this is called dreich.

Not to be put off however on our last stretch of the Ocean Road before our return to Melbourne we head off to Johanna beach to have a play.

Unsurprisingly we are the only people on the beach and we have a great time, only being let down by the lack of a bucket and spade to make some sand castles.

After a while we need to move on however as we need to make it to Queenscliffe for the ferry to Mornington Peninsula tonight before the last ferry at 6pm.

So we continue on our merry way through the cold and wet day along to the end of the Great Ocean Road,

past the Split Point lighthouse,

Via Bells Beach – the original Aussie surfing beach - to the ferry which takes us to Sorrento on Mornington Peninsula which will be our home for the next few days.
