Easing into San Francisco

We still don’t have our bags this morning so we get on the phone to our insurance company and use their assistance service (from the very kind Dermott) to get some help in getting our bags back.  We are told we should have them this afternoon so after a lovely breakfast in the B&B we head off into town, to explore.

Union Street where our B&B is located is full of lovely little individual and boutique shops so we spend a bit of time wandering in and out of the shops and then make our way down to Fisherman’s Wharf.
Again we spend some time having a mooch about the shops here, in particular the Boudin Bakery which has been baking their famous sourdough bread since 1849  Mrs M is impressed with some of the more comedy shapes they are creating in the glass fronted bake house (lobsters, crabs, crocodiles etc) and thinks I should get more creative with my bread when we get back home.
Comedy pain
As it’s a lovely sunny day we decide to keep walking and head down along the different wharfs towards the Ferry Building.
One way the Golden Gate Bridge

The other the Bay Bridge
After picking up our Alcatraz tickets for tomorrow morning we stumble across a lovely farmers market and pick up some homemade falafel, latkes and hummous for lunch which we have sat at the end of a wharf.

We then catch a cab back to the B&B where Mrs M is overcome with emotion upon seeing our bags sat waiting for us.
Mrs M hugs her bag
It’s then extra long showers and clean clothes all round and out for dinner to the amazing Rose’s Café across the road.  This is a lovely relaxed café which serves the most amazing Italian food.  Mrs M has the pumpkin ravioli and Mr M the sausage and pancetta gnocci.
