Cable Cars but not as you know them

We can't believe our luck as it is another fabulous sunny day today and we decide to spend the first half of today exploring town on the historic cable cars.

On the way to the cable cars we walk up a massive hill to see the worlds most crooked street on Lombard Street.
Most crooked street in the world...
We find it quite funny that this is labelled as the most crooked street in the world, as although it has eight tight hairpins it is still constrained within the linear street grid system.

Then we make our way down to the end of the cable car line at Hyde Street near Fisherman's Wharf and pick up a rather festive car.

It's really good fun to go up and down the steep streets in these old fashioned cable cars and we spend a couple of hours hopping on and off all the different lines.

Feeling both in the cable car and Christmas spirit we decide to go on the cheesy evening bus/cable car (actually bus built to look like cable car) Santa sightseeing trip.

We don our Santa hats and board the bus ready for some Christmas sing-along sightseeing treats and are not disappointed.

San Francisco obviously doesn't hold back on the Christmas decorations and all of the streets / offices / shops / houses are decked out in colourful lights, all helped by a bus load of 'santas' singing along to Christmas songs.  We also have a stop in the Fairmont Hotel to see their huge Christmas tree and life sized gingerbread house.

We had a blast and are now in the Christmas spirit.
