Betty’s Rules

So you may have picked up on the fact our campervan is called Betty in some earlier blogs.  We felt we had to name the van as this is our home for most of the 8 weeks we are in NZ, but didn’t really get around to giving her a name until we were in Oz the other week.  One day in the car Mrs M had said ‘what should we call the campervan?’  ‘Betty’ said I, and that was pretty much it.

Now as we have to spend most of our time traveling, eating, sleeping etc in Betty we also decided that we should have some ‘van rules’ to adhere to.

Some of these have come from tips from other people, some from our own experience and others have been added as we go along.

Betty’s Rules
1.        Mrs M is always right.
2.        Re-read Rule 1.
3.        Never drive past a fuel station with less than ½ tank of fuel.
4.        Wave hello to other campervans.
5.        Before moving off check all cupboards are secure.
6.        Check all cupboards again
7.        First one up in the morning makes a cuppa.
8.        Betty gets brushed inside every couple of days, and washed outside every week.
9.        There is never a bad time for a cup of tea.
10.     Cooking dinner is taken in turns but both wash-up.
11.     Where possible buy local and what’s in season.
12.     Always walk on the campsite before parking to see how soft the ground is.

As we will no doubt have missed some, feel free to suggest some more.

  1. Do we get to see either some more photos of Betty (guided tour) or a video ??
