We might have forgotten to mention
on the previous Oz blog that Mrs M, when planning this part of the trip, tried
to arrange some interesting accommodation for us. The first part of this was last night where
we stayed in a converted double decker ‘Bondi Express’ railway carriage in Codrington.
Today we make our start on the GreatOcean Road on the south Victoria coast and visit some nice lookouts on the way
to Port Fairy with some impressive big waves.
After a few hours enjoying the Port
Fairy sunshine we then head to Logan’s Beach to try and spot some Southern
Wright Whales but unfortunately they are not playing today. We do however see some geological road signs
on the way through Warnambool.
It’s then a drive back along the coast
to Cape Bridgewater to see the blowholes and also the petrified forest that isn’t
actually a petrified forest but solution pipes formed during diagenesis of
these sandy limestones.
A great day on the south Victoria
coast.
Mr & Mrs M
